Full Bridge Closure

Start Date: November 7, 2026
End Date / Reopening: March 1, 2028 (construction concludes February 29, 2028)
Scope: Complete 16-month closure of State Route 47 across the bridge for the $752.8 million deck replacement.

Ongoing & Past Overnight Closures

Overnight Lane Closures: Alternating through summer and fall 2026 (10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.) between eastbound and westbound directions on SR-47 between Ferry Street and Harbor Boulevard.

Detours: Traffic during partial or full closures will utilize the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Route 103, and Interstate 110. Live traffic and updates are available via Caltrans Quickmap.

๐Ÿš› What this means for your freight: The Vincent Thomas Bridge is a primary drayage corridor linking the San Pedro side of the Port of Los Angeles with Terminal Island and Long Beach. During the closure, trips that normally cross SR-47 will be re-routed via PCH, Route 103, or I-110, which may add transit time during peak hours. Arrowlink's dispatch team is already planning alternate routings, and our real-time GPS ETA tracking will keep you informed if any delivery is affected. Questions about a specific shipment?
